Daves Gormet Insanity Salsa

Dave's Gourmet Insanity Salsa
Daves Gourmet Insanity Salsa
Im a big fan of Daves Gourmet range and am slowly working my way through his hot sauces (next one Dave's Gourmet Ghost Pepper Naga Jolokia Hot Sauce). This humble looking 340g Jar of salsa from the states contains some dangerous stuff! Any chili product that comes with a warning like this "Use this product with caution. Keep away from eyes, pets and children. Not for people with heart or respiratory problems" on the packaging is something I want to try! Now I like things hot but this stuff is something else and is possibly the hottest salsa I have ever tasted! I don't know how Dave did it but the heat level from the Jalapeno and Habanero combination in this jar is way more than you would expect!!

The Jar itself claims to be the 'Hottest Salsa in the Universe!' and I think that Dave may be right I had a jar in my fridge for nearly a year well past its use by date and guess what no mould even went near it! One day I had the jar out as part of a buffet and a friend tried a bit, we found him in the kitchen with a bottle of milk crying much to our amusement. if you want to experience this then click on the picture or get some here  i want to go insane too with Dave's Gourmet Insanity Salsa

Top Ten chilli Hot Sauces

I came across this article from the independent news paper listing the 'top ten hot sauces' I have to say this list was probably not complied by a true chilli head. It got me thinking what my top ten sauces would be, I have so many that I am finding it hard to choose. There is an excellent collection of lists from some true chilli heads here on Scott Roberts site Thinking through what would be in my top ten and decided that I cant rank them in my mind but these sauces are usually stocked in my chilli shelf at home. Leave your comments below what would be in your top ten!

I have added a link to each Hot Sauce so you can pick some up for your self or find out more

The Evil One Hot Sauce by Grim Reaper foods - UK
Hatari Acid Rain Sauce by Hatari Hot sauces - Canada
Oak Smoked Chipotle Sauce Upton Cheyney Chilli Company - UK
The Rookie Goblin by Grim Reaper foods

There are also so many sauces I have yet to try and so many new quality producers springing up everywhere so this list and my shelves will grow

Chillis Make you Happy - Heston Blumenthal Tests Theory.

Psychology - Chillis Make you Happy

Psychologist Paul Rozin suggests that eating chilis is an example of a "constrained risk" like riding a roller coaster, in which extreme sensations like pain and fear can be enjoyed because individuals know that these sensations are not actually harmful. This method lets people experience extreme feelings without any risk of bodily harm. (1) I have read chef Heston Blumenthal gave his chef some chilli oil and monitored their brain activity on a MRI scan. It showed the part of the brain which registers heat was right next to the part of the brain which makes us feel happy! (7)

Check out more chilli facts in my Chilli Facts section or gorw some of your own to make you happy too usign these tips http://chillipepperheaven.blogspot.com/2010/12/growing-chilli-plants.html

to get your happiness levels up I would recommend trying out one of the sauces below. Just Click on the picture to get hold of some and enjoy!
